Making Our Own Weather At Daddy's Beach Club - August 22, 2010

Sunday afternoon was another great day at Daddy's Beach Club.

The weather wasn't great early on in the day on Sunday but the good news is that Daddy's Beach Club is a great place any day regardless of the weather. I believe in the idea that 'you make your own weather.' How we respond to the world is more important than the current conditions. Sunday afternoon there was live music, a view of the ocean, cool people and great pizza to be had at Daddy's.

This was like the third week in a row that a young person got up to 'cut the rug' while I was playing in the afternoon at Daddy's. This young man danced up a storm with his parents cheering him on.

I took requests all day. This gent wanted to hear a Stevie Ray tune.

These ladies wanted to hear Bob Seger and Neil Young.

It was great to see Kelly and Ray again at Daddy's. They have been very supportive and encouraging.

Walter backed me up with the clapping part on The Wild Rover. It's the clapping that makes that song.

Daddy's is a great place for friends to hang out together on a Sunday afternoon, getting a bite to eat, having a beverage and listening to live tunes.

All of the staff at Daddy's are top notch!

They know how to pour a Guinness too!

It's sunny at Daddy's Beach Club regardless of the weather :-)

Back at Daddy's Beach Club at Nantasket Beach this Sunday afternoon playing from 2PM to 6PM.

Here is some more info on Google maps including the web site.

And the Weather Forecast for Sunday :-)

Sunday...Sunny...hot with highs in the lower 90s. Northwest winds 5 to 10 mph.

Abington Alehouse - August 2010

Friday night I played at The Abington Alehouse on RT 18 in Abington Mass. The Abington Alehouse has a restaurant and lounge area. I played in the lounge area.

Some friends of my friends (shown above) Annette, Donna, Kevin, and Eric stopped by to listen to some tunes.

My friend Brenda's daughter Nicole came by for some tunes too. I know Nicole likes Kenny Chesney tunes so I played She Comes From Boston when I saw that she was there.

My friends Dawn and Kim came out for a meal and some live music. Kim got up to sing a couple songs and Dawn requested some Waylon.

My friend Dana was there. She is a great photographer and she snapped some pictures while I was playing.

My friend Brian stopped in with the Mrs for a few tunes.

Folks were definitely having fun.

People danced and that is always cool thing especially at a solo acoustic show.

Birthdays were being celebrated.

Folks really enjoyed the tunes.

This gentleman has the rating for the night :-)

I return to play at The Abington Alehouse September 17, 2010.

Daddy's Beach Club - August 15, 2010

Yesterday was another great day at Nantasket Beach. I played in the afternoon at Daddy's Beach Club. If you haven't been to Daddy's Beach Club you have to check the place out and preferably on a Sunday afternoon when I am playing.
:-)

Check out Daddy's Beach Club online.

My friends Terry and Jaime are sisters and they are both into music. Terry is in the band The Last Second. Jaime is in the band Everyday Disaster. Terry brought her twin girls along to the show. I had fun meeting Terry and the girls at a show in Raynham as they celebrated her birthday. I have been online friends with Jaime for years but yesterday was the first time I had the pleasure to meet her in person.

Jaime got up to sing and was awesome. She sang the song Laid by James and Wanted Dead Or Alive by Bon Jovi.

It was really fun having Jaime get up to sing a couple tunes and lots of people told me they loved her singing.

Later in the afternoon a gentleman brought his little girl over to the dance floor and she danced up a storm. She had the place captivated.

After playing a number of upbeat tunes I decided to get the sampler going and jump on the floor to dance too :-)

Daddy's Beach Club is a great place for families on a Sunday afternoon.

I was psyched to see my friend Theresa come into Daddy's. She said she was home watching Lifetime and said to herself Hey wait, Jimmy is playing, I am going to the show. The conclusion is that going to the beach and hearing live music at Daddy's Beach Club is way more fun than watching Lifetime.
:-)
Theresa called and invited Debbie to come down too.

I admire Theresa because she is one of my friends who is really determined to really live life to the fullest.

I was happy to see Ray and his wife stop in again. Ray loves Jethro Tull so I did a rendition of Thick as A Brick.

There were a number of happy campers at Daddy's on Sunday.

These ladies requested Tom Petty and county tunes.

The folks at Daddy's Beach Club are awesome.

People were raving about how good the the pizza is.

The service is excellent as Daddy's.

The window seats are a great place to sit and watch the ocean or 'people watch.' These ladies were rating guys passing by on foot and on bikes. As I was leaving with my gear I was pretty happy with my rating. I need to work a little harder with the judge in the middle though.
:-)

I am returning to play at Daddy's Beach Club next Sunday afternoon. Some folks have already told me they were coming down for the fun next Sunday. If you haven't made plans yet come down to Nantasket and have some fun at Daddy's Beach Club!

Louis' Crossing August 14, 2010

Saturday night I performed at Louis' Crossing in the Houghs Neck section of Quincy Mass. Louis' Crossing is a family owned and operated restaurant and lounge.

The service is excellent and they have a full menu to choose from and all my friends who have come to see me perform there report high marks for the food at Louis' Crossing.

Check out the web site for more info.

There was a special occasion being celebrated. Shawn was celebrating his birthday in style.

I took requests and folks enjoyed the tunes.

It was great to see friends at the show!

Europa was well received.

Played some Led Zep. and It's Five O'Clock Somewhere :-)

Some of my friends were trying out Louis' Crossing for the first time and they loved it.

Definitely love playing at Louis' Crossing!

I will back at Louis' Crossing on Friday October 22nd!
