Columbus Day at Chubby's

On Columbus Day I had a night off teaching and checked out an open mic in North Providence. The open mic is at Chubby's on Smith Street and is run by DanTessier. Chubby's is a cool venue. Dan is a great host and they had variety of performers. If you are in RI or southeastern Mass check out the open mic at Chubby's and tell them Jimmy sent you.

I will be playing at Chubby's Nov 16th and December 11th!

McGuiggan's October 2010

Last Saturday night I played at McGuiggan's Pub in Whitman. "McGuiggan's Pub is a fashionable, upscale Irish sports pub with a lively bar and dining room. Situated in a completely remodeled 19th century building, the pub's ambiance exudes history and charm. With all the class of a Boston pub, McGuiggan's serves a great pub menu in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. McGuiggan's is a great place to eat, drink, and socialize with family and friends."

It was an awesome night. It was great to see Joanne and Denise with family at the show!

Definitely good times with good people.

Awesome to see Ronnie and Sue again TWICE in one weekend, DOUBLE BONUS!

Ron's best man Jack was there with a friend too.

The group Sidebar was 'in the house.' My friends Walt, Becky and Tricia have a group in the start up stage. They sound great. Hoping that they will perform again at one of my upcoming band shows. Becky got up to sing a song with me. It was nice to meet Tricia's friend Jeff.

Way cool to see my friend Sherri later in the evening.

There were great people hanging out and listening to tunes Saturday night.

The folks at McGuiggan's are great hosts.

Folks requested tunes. I met some really nice people.

Back at McGuiggan's on November 13th!

First Time At Chubby's in North Providence

Tuesday night I played for the first time at a really cool venue in North Providence called Chubby's.

My friend Mike Dardis came all the way from Marshfield for the show. Mike has a music act too. He got up and played some songs when I took a break. I learned about Chubby's from my friend Kristin Pimental. If you get a chance check out Mike or Kristin perform. You won't be disappointed.

I met some really nice people.

I took requests.

People enjoyed the tunes.

There were a lot of happy campers.

I will be playing again on Tuesday, November 16th.

I am really looking forward to playing there again.

I have a weekend gig booked for Saturday night December 11th.

Come out for some fun at Chubby's and make it a night I am playing there :-)

St John's Athletic Club October 2010

Last Saturday night I played at St John's Athletic Club in Fall River Mass.

I have been playing at St John's for a number of years.

I have made some good friends there.

I get to play tunes there that I don't normally play at other venues.

Folks like Jethro Tull, The Who and Ten Years After and lots of classic rock tunes. Some like country and Buffet tunes too. :-)

It's always fun playing there.

The folks at St John's at great.

More pics online here.

Back at St John's Athletic Club on November 20th.

JP Greer's October Round III

Last Friday night was the third time playing at JP Greer's in as many weeks. It turned out to be a reunion of sorts. There were 'kids' I knew from elementary school, middle school and high school. :-)

Some folks I hadn't seen in quite a while, like Stephanie and Debbie G.

It was great to see my friends Tony and John.

It was a fun night.

There were some crazy hula hoop demonstrations.

Its nice playing for friends you went to school with because you know a lot of the songs they like.

There were new friends there too. It was a great night.

I don't have a pictures of my guest singers from that evening to post here but it was great to have Brittany P., and Leanne M. get up and sing.

It was a fun run of shows at JP Greer's.

Life is good today :-)

Bandapalooza 2010

Last Sunday I played at a great event at Daddy's Beach Club, Nantasket Beach. It was Bandapalooza 2010. I was fortunate to play a lot at Daddy's Beach Club this Summer. They invited all the folks who played at Dadddy's during the summer to come down and have free pizza and have a impromptu jam session. I got there in the late afternoon. It was an all day all night event.

It was great because I got to play a short solo set for the other band folks who were there.

Then I was joined by some other musicians including Darryl Hill and Mark Shom for a set with me singing with a backing band. After that other folks got took the stage and I played rhythm with a borrowed electric guitar.

There were some really great performers.

There was harp player.

There was a blues focus with a lot of the jam and I got to sing and play one of my originals "You Are My Everything" a blues tune. People danced, its awesome to see someone dance to an original. :-)

People got up from the crowd to get into the act too. Something I love.

This guys name was Manny. He sang a Hendrix tune.

and a song called Mojo.

An added bonus was that I got to see and hang out for a while with my friends Wendy and Tracey. Wendy told me she had listened to me play a bunch of times this summer because you could hear the music on the beach. I played mostly on Sunday afternoons.

:-)

If you haven't checked out Daddy's Beach Club on Nantasket beach, do it!

Here's a promo video...

It was a blast. Hoping to play at Daddy's Beach Club again next Summer.
