Damien's July 2010

Saturday night I played at Damien's on RT 58 in Hanson. Damien's is a great place to hang out and have some pizza and beer (or whatever your favorite beverage is). They have the best pizza in town.

I was surprised to see another former classmate and football team mate came to listen to the tunes(two in one weekend). My friend Russ is shown below with my good friend Patti, another classmate.

It's awesome to see friends at a gig.

It gives you confidence to know you have support in the crowd.

I am thankful for good friends.

The night started a little slow and looked like it might get slower. Apparently there was a big event in town at the same time that drew some of the regular patrons away. I have learned though never to give up on a gig. As the night went on more people arrived including this nice group of ladies shown below in the 'before' and 'after' pictures.

These ladies were great, singing along, and some danced too.

I tried to take this guy's picture but I think he is in the witness protection program.

My friends Mike and Allison (shown below with Coleen) came by later with some friends. Mike is a great musician. He will be playing at The Waterfront Bar and Grill in Plymouth this Thursday evening.

The people who work at Damien's are top notch!

I will be playing at Damien's again on Saturday September 4th.

Daddy's Beach Club - July 24th

Saturday afternoon I played at Daddy's Beach Club at Nantasket Beach. The weather man had predicted showers but it was nice down there. I took a walk along the beach before my gig.

Daddy's Beach Club is a great place for a bunch of reasons. One thing I like about playing at Daddy's especially in the afternoon is that it is a family friendly environment. My friend Dave brought his family to Daddy's for lunch. I hadn't seen Dave in years.

There are a lot of people who bring kids in to Daddy's. These guys requested Elvis and American Pie.

My friend 'Bunky' stopped in for a couple tunes in the afternoon. I played football with Bunky. He looks like he could still play the game today.

My friends Jay and Leslie were in the area and saw a sign that I was playing so they stopped in. I was classmates in college with Jay. Jay is a Led Zep fan.

It was a nice coincidence that a number of friends who came to the show on Saturday were from Houghs Neck. My friends Sue and Ron were there. They were celebrating one month of marriage. Ron is a big America fan so I played some America tunes. I also played a song that Eva Cassidy covered because Sue likes her music.

My friends Robin and Marie took a break from the beach to visit Daddy's Beach Club.

The ladies had front row seats for the Atlantic ocean. There is a beautiful view there.

There is something therapeutic about looking out at the ocean.

My friends Mel and Jackie came out for the tunes with a couple friends!

There was a decent crowd as the afternoon went on. I got some nice feedback from people who I met there. Here are a couple more pics.

All the folks at Daddy's Beach Club are great.

\

I will be playing there every Sunday in August from 2-6PM! This is a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon this summer! Enjoy the ocean AND DADDY'S BEACH CLUB!

Jimmy and The Two Mikes at O'Toole's

Friday night I played at O'Toole's in Whitman Mass. The show was a band gig billed as Jimmy and The Two Mikes. The Two Mikes are Mike Shea on drums and Mike McHugh on bass guitar. We were very fortunate for this show to also feature an amazing guitar player, my friend Evan Dennis. Evan plays for the band The 16th Graders. If you get a chance to see that band I highly recommend it.

Besides watching Evan rip up amazing guitar riffs on his stratocastor probably the highlight of the night for me was when my friends Jeff and Cindy joined in for a tune with Jeff singing and Cindy playing her 'green tamborine.' There was alot of great rock and roll energy in the house.

In between sets a new acoustic band called Sidebar played a nice set of songs. Sidebar is a three piece band, my friends Becky, Tricia, and Walt. I had the pleasure to join them for one song.

Becky is in the pic below holding a sign that Mike Shea's toddler drew for the occasion. Mike put it in the drumset bass drum during Sidebar's performance.

My friend Paul Keenan is not just an accomplished comedian he is also a good drummer and he played songs both groups during the evening.

There were also guest performance by my friend Steve Kailher who sang Cat's in The Cradle. Steve's friend Chris sang and did a great song accompanied just by a percussion session. My friend Sven played harmonica on the song Shanty.

We really had alot of fun playing at O'Toole's.

There was a good crowd too. Alot of nice folks were there for the tunes. Here are pics of some of the folks who were there Friday night.

Next show at O'Toole's is September 24th

Rick's Music World - Feature & Five Year Anniversary

Tonight I had the great honor to be the 'feature performer' at Rick's Music World in Raynham as they celebrated the 5 year anniversary of their awesome Open Mic.

If you haven't checked out Rick's Music World in Raynham Mass you really should check the place out. They have great gear, an army of talented teachers, a very cool performance area, Rick and Robin and the whole staff are super friendly and helpful plus they have the most awesome open mic around every Thursday night.

Here is the web site link for Rick's...Rick's Music World

I don't have photos or video yet from this evening but I am including some photos from a previous occasion showing some of the performers who played tonight. Hopefully some video coming soon.

St John's Athletic Club July 2010

Last night I played tunes at St John's Athletic Club on Rodman Street in Fall River Mass.

I have been playing at St John's for years. It is a member organization that has a function hall, restaurant, and lounge. I play in the lounge.

The show went great last night. It's a marathon gig at St John's, I start at 9PM and play into the wee hours.

There were a number of special occasions celebrated last night, two birthdays were celebrated and a wedding anniversary.

I debuted a live performance of my latest original song "The Night I Met You" last night. It went over good.

I will be back at St John's Athletic Club on September 18th.
