JP Greer's October Round III

Last Friday night was the third time playing at JP Greer's in as many weeks. It turned out to be a reunion of sorts. There were 'kids' I knew from elementary school, middle school and high school. :-)

Some folks I hadn't seen in quite a while, like Stephanie and Debbie G.

It was great to see my friends Tony and John.

It was a fun night.

There were some crazy hula hoop demonstrations.

Its nice playing for friends you went to school with because you know a lot of the songs they like.

There were new friends there too. It was a great night.

I don't have a pictures of my guest singers from that evening to post here but it was great to have Brittany P., and Leanne M. get up and sing.

It was a fun run of shows at JP Greer's.

Life is good today :-)

Bandapalooza 2010

Last Sunday I played at a great event at Daddy's Beach Club, Nantasket Beach. It was Bandapalooza 2010. I was fortunate to play a lot at Daddy's Beach Club this Summer. They invited all the folks who played at Dadddy's during the summer to come down and have free pizza and have a impromptu jam session. I got there in the late afternoon. It was an all day all night event.

It was great because I got to play a short solo set for the other band folks who were there.

Then I was joined by some other musicians including Darryl Hill and Mark Shom for a set with me singing with a backing band. After that other folks got took the stage and I played rhythm with a borrowed electric guitar.

There were some really great performers.

There was harp player.

There was a blues focus with a lot of the jam and I got to sing and play one of my originals "You Are My Everything" a blues tune. People danced, its awesome to see someone dance to an original. :-)

People got up from the crowd to get into the act too. Something I love.

This guys name was Manny. He sang a Hendrix tune.

and a song called Mojo.

An added bonus was that I got to see and hang out for a while with my friends Wendy and Tracey. Wendy told me she had listened to me play a bunch of times this summer because you could hear the music on the beach. I played mostly on Sunday afternoons.

:-)

If you haven't checked out Daddy's Beach Club on Nantasket beach, do it!

Here's a promo video...

It was a blast. Hoping to play at Daddy's Beach Club again next Summer.

JP Greer's October Round II

Last Saturday night I played the second time in as many weeks at JP Greer's in Weymouth and the place keeps getting more fun each time I play there.

If they could have danced on the ceiling they would have!

Great nights are about great people and there were a lot awesome folks there. It is great to play for so many friends. Some of them are BRILLiant!

My friends Bruce, Dawn, and Kim were there so Waylon was played and Kim got up to sing.

It was great to see Christine and Michelle again and meet Nicole. I think they had a lot of fun dancing.

Brenda sang again!

Lots of great people were there...

and 'happy campers' :-)

the folks at JP Greer's are cool...

Chiliheads October 2010

Last Friday I played at The Chilihead BBQ on RT 106 in West Bridgewater Mass. Its an early start at Chiliheads. The music started at 7:30PM.

Kudos to my friend Kevin who single handedly bought a stack of A Better Day CD's!

My friend Mark came out for the tunes

Keith and Kim were there! Hoping to be playing in Kim's neck of the woods soon.

My friend Tricia (shown below with Glen) came out to the show with friends. Tricia loves the song Soulshine by Warren Haynes.

Some friends I work with came to this show with family. Steve's crew had a lot of fun and his daughter got up to demonstrate some Irish step dancing while I played some Drop Kick Murphy's. It was awesome.

My friend Noreen was there with husband Ron and their son. Their son loves the ribs at Chiliheads.

My friend Pam likes Johnny Cash and Cat Stevens.

Paul the owner of Chiliheads is a really cool guy. He is in the pic below talking with my friends Scott and Angela. Hoping to play for their wedding. :-) paul always makes the rounds to make sure his guests are getting the best of everything.

I met my friend Robin at Chiliheads. She is always ready to back me up when I sing Bon Jovi.
:-)

I met Mike at Shedfest 2010.

It was an awesome night and there definitely were 'Happy Campers.' :-)

The folks at Chiliheads are great!

Back at Chiliheads on Friday December 10th.

Piccadilly Pub October 2010

The weekend before last I had a really cool gig at The Piccadilly Pub on RT 28 in Randolph Mass.

My friend Stormy came out for the tunes. He plays in the band Dirty Sugar. Stormy also does the solo acoustic thing. He did me the favor of playing for a while so that I could visit with some friends who had come to see play. It also gave me the chance to meet some new folks. Stormy's first gig of 2011 will be at The Piccadilly Pub in Randolph. Check out Stormy solo or with Dirty Sugar one of these days. I guess we both got the memo about what shirt to wear. :-)

There is something about knowing you have real, true blue, support in the crowd and I always feel that way when I see my friends Sue, Connie, Elizabeth and Ronnie. Sue and Connie have been coming to see me play since back in The Mystic Lounge days. Connie likes David Gray. I have been writing myself a note for the last 47 weeks (and I probably promised a year or two before I started writing the note) that I need to learn a couple David Gray tunes. NEXT TIME AT THE PIC I will be playing some David Gray :-)

It was a great night for seeing great people. I met Margee and Tony at The Piccadilly Pub early on in my performances there. I met Bill and Diane at an awesome party at Margee and Tony's.

I often see Marie and Ginny at The Pic. They like a lot of the tunes I do but I think their favorite is the song Wildfire. They are fun.

I saw a group of ladies who had seen me play there before with a big group. One has just gotten married. They had lots requests.

:-)

Met some new folks...

that enjoyed the tunes.

I sold a bunch of the A Better Day CD's.

Back at The Piccadilly Pub on November 27th!

JP Greer's October Round I

October 1, 2010 was Round I of three performances scheduled at JP Greer's this month. It was a great night. It started with a pleasant surprise. My friends who I usually see at Bridge Street were at the show.

It's awesome to see friends at shows.

People danced almost right away and through out the night.

My friend Brenda and her daughter Leanne got up to sing with me playing guitar. They each sang different songs.

It was a really fun night. More pics from the evening are online.
