September 2012

Rock and Roll Diary

September was another fun month of live music.  I played 14 shows in September.  

The first show of the month was a Saturday afternoon outing at Daddy's Beach Club on Nantasket Beach.  It was a fun duet show with my friend Mike Shea on the congas.

They were dancing inside and out.  There were some live wires there that day including a lady who had the loudest whistle we have ever heard.  It was a really fun show.  More pics here.

I played an evening show at The Fat Cactus on RT1 in Lynnfield early in September. More pics here.

One Friday was a busy double header with a show at JP Ryan's in Abington and a show at Jake's Bar in East Bridgewater.  More pics here.

GREAT show at Cappy's Tavern in Hyde Park in September.  Folks danced and sang along and there was an anniversary celebration.

The Endless Summer Fest at Nantasket was another great Saturday at Daddy's Beach Club.  More pics here.

It was a fun night at Chubby's Bar in North Providence in September.  My buds from the band Touched came out for the show and got into the act.

Lots of fun that night.  My friend Jorge is a great bass player.  Hoping to do some gigs with Jorge in the the near future.

This was the 6th year in a row that I have played music for the Quincy Animal Shelter's annual beer and wine tasting fundraiser event.

It's a great cause and I love the folks who are involved with the shelter.  I really enjoy playing music for it.

The last weekend of the month I had a show at O'Toole's in Whitman and the Red Rose Cafe in Weymouth.  

Lots of friends and fans came out for each of the shows and gave me a ton support through a very tough time (my mother's passing).  

My mother was my biggest fan and everyone 'raised a glass' to the honor and memory of my mother.  

I am blessed to be able to enjoy making music and having fun with so many good folks.  

From season to season one thing is for sure, music makes life better, even during the tough times.

Sunday Funday at Hajjar's

I played a full band show at Hajjar's in Weymouth in August.  

I was joined by Bill Lawnsby and Mike McHugh.

Our friend Jeff got up to sing a few tunes.

There were a number of folks from Ireland there celebrating a Christening. 

 It was a really fun gig.

Sunday Funday at O'Toole's Pub

I love playing at O'Toole's Pub in Whitman Mass.  I had a Sunday Funday show there in August.  The show featured the longest version of She Comes From Boston ever performed and it was modified to be She Comes from Rockland. :-)

The Sand Dollar Bar

It was an amazing month of shows in August at the Sand Dollar Bar in Dennisport, the best bar on Cape Cod.  

I had a weekly show there all summer.

I batted a 1000 for having fans come from other venues that I play at down to the Cape Cod shows every week.

I made some new fans along the way too.

The last show of the season ended with a legit encore and the crowded calling out for more.  :-)
